Mr. Lee is a Manager with Applied Economics LLC, providing corporate finance and business valuation services. Mr. Lee has been engaged to perform valuations for purposes related to financial reporting, tax reporting, transaction advisory services, and litigation support involving both fair market value and fair value standards.
Mr. Lee has experience in providing business enterprise valuations, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment analyses, fairness opinions, subordinated and unsecured debt valuations, equity and preferred stock valuations, option pricing analyses, security valuations under complex capital structures, ESOP valuations, family limited partnerships, and valuations of intangible assets. These engagements have been used to satisfy requirements under ASC 805, ASC 350, ASC 718, IRC 409(a) and 83(b) as well as for gift and estate tax purposes, dispute resolution, and general business planning.
Mr. Lee’s experience spans multiple industries including telecommunications, publishing, wholesaling, information technology, healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, fintech, professional services, architecture and engineering, and entertainment.
While at Applied Economics, Mr. Lee’s international experience includes valuing companies located throughout North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Lee holds a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma. Mr. Lee earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Georgia College and State University, where he was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Mr. Lee holds the Charter Financial Analyst® designation administered by the CFA Institute and holds the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) from the American Society of Appraisers. Mr. Lee serves as the President of the Atlanta chapter of the Kenan-Flagler Business School Alumni Club, where he leads Atlanta alumni in fundraising and community service.
