Mr. Burdette is a Managing Director and provides valuation and strategic advisory services to business owners, trustees, attorneys and members of boards of directors. He specializes in Employee Stock Ownership Plans (“ESOPs”), gift and estate planning and strategic planning. Mr. Burdette is highly active in the ESOP industry. Mr. Burdette is a member of the ESOP Association’s Fiduciary Committee and is active in the local chapter of the ESOP Association’s New South ESOP Chapter. He is a past Vice President of the New South ESOP Chapter and has sat on the editorial board for their quarterly publication, Eye on ESOPs.
Mr. Burdette specializes in ESOP analysis, including ESOP formation and termination, adequate consideration analyses, feasibility analysis, transaction financing and structuring, fairness and solvency opinions, and post-transaction cash flow analyses and annual ESOP update valuations. He has provided valuations and advisory services to closely-held companies, public corporations, complex capital structures (various classes of common/preferred stock, options, warrants, restricted stock, etc.), general and limited partnership interests, joint ventures, proprietorships, professional service corporations, professional practices, LLPs and LLCs and B-corporations. Mr. Burdette’s valuation and consulting services cover a wide range of industries.
Prior to joining Applied Economics, Mr. Burdette was a Director and Team Leader at Prairie Capital Advisors, an investment bank and ESOP advisory firm. There he performed financial advisory and strategic consulting services. Prior to Prairie, he was a Manager at Willamette Management Associates, a valuation and advisory firm. Before joining Willamette Management Associates, he was a member of the Private Advisory Group for Wachovia Bank and Wachovia Securities.
