Brian Skinner, ASA

Managing Director

Mr. Skinner is a Managing Director with Applied Economics LLC, providing corporate finance and business valuation services. Mr. Skinner has performed valuations of domestic and international businesses, common and preferred stocks, partnership interests, stock options, warrants and intangible assets for both privately and publicly held clients. Mr. Skinner’s valuations have been used for a variety of purposes, such as mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, SFAS goodwill impairment tests, corporate planning, solvency opinions, reorganizations, litigation support, estate, gift and corporate tax planning, marital dissolution and ESOP administration. He has performed valuations in a variety of industries, including technology, consulting, manufacturing, chemical production, construction, commercial real estate, lodging, food service, distribution, agriculture, transportation, financial services, retailing and telecommunications.

Prior to joining Applied Economics, Mr. Skinner was a senior associate with the Phillips Hitchner Group, an Atlanta-based valuation and litigation services firm and a consultant in the valuation services group of BDO Seidman, LLP, a national public accounting and consulting firm. In addition to his valuation experience, Mr. Skinner has held positions in financial analysis and internal auditing with British Telecommunications Plc., where he performed financial audits and merger due diligence.

Mr. Skinner holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Georgia. Mr. Skinner is an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers certified in Business Valuation (“ASA”) and a Level III candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation administered by the CFA Institute.
