Mark leverages 45 years of experience helping clients resolve disputes involving economic damages, losses, and values related to commercial, IP, and family law. His industry focus is in the franchise business model, real estate, hospitality, IP, technology, and medical devices. Mark provides services within several states’ courts, US District Courts, and Bankruptcy Courts across the country with a focus on the US Southeast.
Mark recently merged his operations of BW Arpeggio into Applied Economics LLC.
His focus on the franchise business model transcends a wide range of business segments. While he has significant depth in hotels, resorts, food & beverage, and recreation, his franchise experience also includes a variety of retail segments, personal services, automotive, fitness, healthcare, and business services.
Marks background includes serving as the CFO of US Franchise Systems, Inc, the franchising arm of Global Hyatt, from 2000-2006. His experience includes providing strategic planning, feasibility, exit strategy, M&A, due diligence, and work-out and turn-around.
Mark is a 1973 graduate of the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and is accreditation in appraisals and forensics from the AICPA (ABV, CFF), from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) (CVA), and from the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA, now a part of NACVA) (ABAR).
